Asian Herbs in Space

The Asian Herbs in Space (AHiS) program is a scientific experiment focused on growing herbs in the International Space Station (ISS).

This international collaborative experiment is ideal for introducing beginners to the “Kibo” experiments. “Kibo” is the name of the Japanese module on the ISS.

The AHiS experiment focuses on the growth of sweet basil and holy basil on theISS for one month. After growing the basil plants, the experiment is returned to Earth and undergoes detailed investigations such as morphological, scent and gene expression analysis.
