One small step for Gawler River, one giant leap for a group of some Golden Wattle seeds! The Gawler River Junior School Engineering Team demonstrated outstanding teamwork In Week 2 as they took the next step in the What’ll Happen to The Wattle??! Project, the first official seeds in space program for Australia.
Students followed the instructions provided as well as organising their own rosters and spreadsheets for data collection, coding Micro:Bits to measure light and temperature levels – then creating and printing a simple poster to communicate to the younger students (who want to get involved) how to use the Micro:Bits to collect light levels and temperature.
The wattle seeds will be kept in the STEM room and our young Engineers will keep data on the two groups of seeds recording temperature, germination and the growth differences between the two groups.
We will keep you posted on our progress!
